December 11th, 2025, Jackson Soil and Water Conservation (JSWCD) District Board members, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) staff, and JSWCD staff wish Mack Glass good luck on his new adventure as he steps down from being a JSWCD board member. Thank you for serving for 24 years as a dedicated board member, Mack Glass.

October 24th, 2025, For Forestry in the Classroom, Deanna Halstead, from Rex Lumber, Mrs. Williams' fourth-grade students if baby food has tree products in it. The majority of the class gives a thumbs up, while others have their thumbs down. To their shock, tree products are in baby food!
October 24th, 2025, For Forestry in the Classroom, Matt McGaughey, from Rex Lumber, shows students from Graceville two containers of wood chips and charcoal. He explains how wood can be made into charcoal after being exposed to high temperatures in a fire.
October 23rd, 2025, For Forestry in the Classroom, Danny Duce is pulling products derived from trees for the fourth graders of Day Springs Christian Academy, and asking how many trees should be cut down to make Elmer's glue. Students respond with four trees. He continues with different products, telling the students what part of the tree is used for each one.
October 23rd, 2025, For Forestry in the Classroom, Billy Bailey teaches Mrs. Oliver's fourth-grade class about how salicin is derived from a Willow tree to make Aspirin.

October 23rd, 2025, For Forestry in the Classroom, Jackson County Fire Ranger, Austin Goff, and Jackson County Forester, Barry Stafford, are educating the fourth graders of Day Springs Christian Academy about the benefits of tree thinning and the responsibility of replanting.
